Multiple room partition dividers creating light-filled zones in a contemporary workplace
For the Boston offices of 3Play Media, Bloomming’s Facet system was applied as a series of room partition dividers throughout the open-plan interior. Rather than relying on a single dividing element, multiple hanging dividers were used to structure the space — creating clarity, rhythm, and zoning while preserving light and openness. This project demonstrates how room partition dividers can work collectively as an architectural tool, subtly guiding movement and defining areas without fragmenting the office.

Multiple room partition dividers as a spatial strategy
In this project, multiple room partition dividers are used in sequence to structure the open-plan office into zones for focused work, meetings, and informal seating. Suspended between existing columns, the Facet dividers create semi-transparent layers rather than enclosed rooms. This approach maintains long sightlines and visual connection while introducing a clear spatial rhythm that helps users intuitively navigate the workplace.
Light, transparency, and adaptability
Each room partition divider is composed of diamond-shaped elements that can be rotated individually, allowing transparency to be adjusted locally. This enables daylight to filter deep into the interior, even with several dividers in place. Rather than blocking light, the dividers act as subtle filters, adding texture and depth while supporting a calm, open atmosphere. Thanks to the modular system, size and configuration can evolve over time as the workplace changes.
A tailored solution for 3Play Media
3Play Media is a Boston-based technology company specializing in media accessibility services such as captioning, transcription, and audio description. Their focus on clarity, inclusivity, and intelligent systems aligns naturally with the Facet concept. For this project, the room partition dividers were customized with 90 cm suspensions in brushed stainless steel, allowing them to float lightly within the space and integrate seamlessly with the existing architecture.
Interior architecture by Union Office
The interior architecture was designed by Union Office, a Boston-based studio known for thoughtful, human-centered work environments. Here, the room partition dividers are not treated as standalone objects but as part of a cohesive spatial system. Integrated into the overall layout, they contribute to orientation, atmosphere, and identity across the entire office floor, demonstrating how flexible dividers can play a central architectural role.
