Creating subtle transitions with a hallway room divider
In contemporary office design, the challenge is rarely about closing off space — but about shaping it with intention. In this project in Amsterdam, a Facet hallway room divider introduces a subtle yet architectural transition between the hallway and the surrounding workspace. This hallway room divider is designed to define space without compromising light, openness, or architectural flow. Rather than blocking the view, the divider creates a layered sense of depth. Light flows through the space, while the geometry of the facets gently defines direction and movement. The result is a hallway that feels guided, not enclosed.

A transparent hallway room divider that elevates the space
Oracle’s office environment called for a solution that balances openness with structure. The Facet hallway room divider answers this with a design that is both functional and expressive. Its modular, rotatable elements allow the transparency to be fine-tuned across the surface. Some areas remain open and airy, while others become more private — creating a dynamic composition that evolves with the perspective of the viewer. Rather than acting as a barrier, the hallway room divider becomes a visual feature: a sculptural presence that enhances the overall interior.
Designed in collaboration with leading professionals
This project was realized in collaboration with CBRE, responsible for the interior concept, and Smeulders IG, who brought the design to life with precision and craftsmanship. Together, they created an environment where architecture and functionality seamlessly meet — with the Facet divider acting as a central element in the spatial composition.
A modular system with architectural flexibility
Facet is designed for adaptability. Its modular structure allows it to be tailored to the exact dimensions of a project, while the individually rotatable elements give designers full control over light, privacy, and pattern. In this setting, the hallway room divider introduces texture into an otherwise minimal palette. The interplay of light and shadow across the faceted surface adds depth and softness to the clean architectural lines of the office.
A statement piece within everyday use
What begins as a practical solution — defining a hallway — becomes something more: a design feature that invites interaction and attention. Facet does not simply divide space. It shapes how space is experienced — quietly elevating everyday movement through space.
